I see above that Bathurst's two ERAs, one in the 142,000 range and another in the 151,000 range, were both made in Dec of 1916, but mine, a 676,000 range, was three months earlier.

It's an Eddystone (ERA), s/n 676347.Also, it was mentioned that these records are at the British archive at Kew are these available for download or order from the website?Īnd if so, what's the name of the document to search for? (Please don't take this that I don't appreciate Mr.ĤthGordons I just think it'd be neat to have a prineed copy of the archive page to keep with the rifle.:-))Thank you in advance. I was wondering if I could please get an acceptance/manufactured date for my P14. Is your bolt numbered as a Remington? TonyE, could you please if not too much of a problem, tell what date are my two P14 ERA with serials 151816.thanks and cheersSteveJust saw this: the inspection/acceptance dates TonyE (who is indeed sorely missed) had were from Munitions files in the British Archives at Kew, so they remain available.151850 ERA was accepted in the last week of Dec ERA was accepted the week previously.(always with the caveat I have correctly read the table and done the maths correctly!) The numbers are reported weekly, monthly and cumulative production/acceptance. There is another thread on this subject with some good info. How is the headspace? I have a Winchester P14 in an M1917 stock and it is nice and tight despite the mismatched bolt. The stock is not cut for volley sights and there is no stock disc. The No.3 MkII marking indicates that it has been rebuilt to the 'Weedon Repair Standard' during WWII. LV Steve, thanks much for the response! The stock stamping says No. The bolt is numbered but does not match (30010).

I did remove the stock and the number on the barrel matches the recever number. SP bullet which shoot extremely well in my favorite Maltby No.Ĥ and I'm hoping for equal or better performance from this rifle. 1s and reload for 303: I have some fresh reloads, R-P brass with 40.5 grains of IMR 3031 behind a Hornady 150 Gr. The bore is absolutely gorgious, bright sharp rifling and a very tight muzzle! I have a number of No. I plan a trip to the range early Monday morning and hopefully it will be a good shooter. I just got it at an estate auction on thursday night and I'm still trying to find out exactly what it is. The stock is not cut for volley sights and there is no stock disc.

Have a look at the underside of the wrist for any markings.

I cannot see a unit disc on the right side of the butt nor any evidence of the volley sight. Given that there were about 1.2 million made and yours is a Remington in the 60k range, I would guess 1914-15.I am a little intrigued by the stock. I believe that all the production took place 1914-1916. You will have to remove the action from the stock to see, or at the very least the handguard. IIRC, the date is on the barrel just forward of where it is screwed into the receiver.
